MOVING...WAITING...MOVING(again)...NOT MOVING (con't)

Okay, Welcome back. I left off where I was talking about how we just saved 200 bucks becuase we didn't have to pay for a tow.

Now, seeing that it was a Saturday, the dealership said that they could not do anything until Monday. except for finding out what was wrong. okay... so I told him to call me back once they figured it out.

'RIIINNNNGGG' the phone rang.
"hello?"
"Yes, Chad. This is Findlay Hyundai. We found out what is wrong with your car. The computer is coming back saying that the Crankshaft sensor is not responding, and that could mean, that it either broke, or came lose. Now that is a pretty big job. we have to tear down the engine and get behind the timing belt to get to it.. It will take us about 3 hours.
"okay... anything else?"
"Have you replaced the timing belt?"
"No, not yet."
"well, we suggest that you get that replaced too. Now you have 63000 miles and the Crankshaft sensor is not under your powertrain warrenty; so with the Timing belt and Sensor it will cost you about, including labor, about $460 plus tax."
"Now, when we bought the car, we also bought an extended bumper to bumper warrenty but we never heard anything else from corporate so we are assuming that it was taken care of..."
"Okay, we will research that and get back to you. In the meantime, do you want to have us go ahead and start on the car?"
"NO, lets hold off for now, lets make sure that we have the warrenty figured out first"

And that was that. We decided that there wasn't anything else we could do until Monday because everything would be closed til then.

Now, I told you that my family was going to be coming down this weekend. Well they were down in St. George, and would be coming up to our house once Andi (My sister) was done with her track meet. They arrived around 4 or so. which was good because we had nowhere to go, and no way to get there.

To fast forward a little bit, we had a fun time playing games with my family, and when they left reality had to set back in for the next day (Monday)

I know that I keep trying to fast forward but never really do a whole lot. But now I really am.

On monday we called Hyundai Corp. and the original dealership that sold the car to the people that we bought it from, and the Findlay dealer. We fought long and hard, but in the long run, we lost the battle, and had to pay for it out of pocket. However, we did get a discount. We called a friend of ours that works for Rolling Rubber, a service center here in Cedar. He gave us a break down of the costs and with that, I called Findlay and asked them for a breakdown as well. After all of that, I was able to convince them to give me a deal for a price close to our friends.

All in all we finally got our car back on Wednesday and are now able to get back to our lives. We are grateful for savings, and we are grateful for those that were able to help us. Thank you Thank you, and pray that there are no more problems. Let us relax and enjoy our new place.

MOVING...WAITING...MOVING (again)... NOT MOVING...

It is now a Wednesday, and I have not been able to go to any of my classes for just about a week and a half now....

Yes we have finally moved. YA!!!! We moved from our old apartment on the Sat before last, and moved into our new place on the following Tues. (we have officially been in our new place for a week!). With all of the moving I had not been able to go to class last week, which is really more like an excuse because I really could have, but it would have been a little bit more stress than I needed at that time. I had every intention to go to school on the following Monday. ( I even actually made it to my first class on Friday)

Well, the weekend came, and brought a few more surprises...

According to Katy, we had to unpack everything that weekend because she didn't want my family to see us still packed up in boxes when they came to visit that weekend. They were to arrive that Sat. So we finished that up, and awaited for Sat. Saturday came, and I had an Elder's Quorum activity that I wanted to go to; it was a 10 a.m. Katy had to go to work at 9, so we decided to ask a friend to baby sit Braxton for the few hours that we would be gone. Well we both went to our seperate activities for the morning, and on the way back is when it happened.

I jumped into the car, and started it up. I made sure that my sunglasses were on as I backed out of the parking stall to drive away. as I drove away, I waved to the few remaining people left in the Parking lot. I got to the road and started to pull out, when the car died.... It just died.... What was going on? it wasn't THAT hot... could I have left a light on? I checked around the car to double check, No... I pulled off to the side of the road and tried starting the car again... (maybe it was a fluke...) whirr whirr whirr... the car would not start... I pulled the key out, and triple checked the lights again.... nothing. So I hopped out, and popped open the hood, to check the fluids. Oil, Check, Tranny fluid, Check, Washer fluid, just about out. Power steering fluid, check... what could possibly be the problem? I jumped in the car and turned the key...again, nothing. I hurried and whipped out my cellphone and called one of the guys that was still in the parking lot when I left. He answered and I told him that my car died and that I would need a lift home. He had no problem with that. I hung up and called Katy.

"Honey, I have some bad news.... The car just died."
"What!?" "Where? How? When?"
"just now, as I was pulling out of the church parking lot."

To make a long story short, Katy got a little stressed because it is our only mode of transportation, and we had to get it towed to St George. lucky for us, we called the dealership, and they said that the they have road side assistance and we would not need to pay for towing. *whew* that saves us about 200 bucks

now seeing that this is a long story, because this is only the start. I will be finishing in another blog. (maybe I'll make chapters?...)

okay. you dwell on this, and I will continue shortly.

1,00,000 dollar scams

I have now worked at the bank for a year and half. I have seen many things, and every once in a while I will get something that will shock me. One of the most common scams of our era is the "You won the international lottery" you never entered any lottery but yet you are sent a check and asked to deposit it and send back a little less than the total amount to a representative for taxes and fees on your winnings. Now we usually catch those who are going to make the deposit before they get them selves into hot water. But occasionally a poor sole will come back with their account thousands in the negative, because of course the check bounced and they payed the "Taxes" asked.

Now at Wells Fargo we have an "On the Watch" system that pays their employees an amount of money for catching these things. I have always felt a little better knowing that I am part of stopping the fraud. Although my little one time catch could never make up for all those poor people who buy into this.

Well...I have now won the "International Lottery"!!!!

Yes it is true I got a letter and check, saying I had stuck it big. Of course I know it is fake but it makes me so worried for the future? How did these people get my name and address? I guess it proves once again that we are not a secure as some lead us to believe! I will of course report this to my manager and we will send it to our amazing fraud department (say what you will about Wells but we are leading the nation in fraud prevention, and are ranked third in the world).
It would be really cool if it were true but I know that if something seems to good to be true, it usually is.

Well we love you and are thinking of you all. KATY

Adjustment

So after reading all of your comments and then rereading Chad's entry, I realize that the list we made is one that is extensive. Some of those things we would like to get right away..washer and dryer, lawn mower, and our bathroom stuff, other things are just things we would eventually like to get for our new place. Which yes Trisha is a mansion compared to "The shoe box" and "The card board box". Both of our old apartments! Dont get us wrong we love having our own place and being able to afford it but this new place has been in the wings for almost a year and a half and it is time for an up grade.

We love you all and really hope the best for all.

It has begun...

If you came over to our house for the first time after today, you would think that we were boring people. We have NOTHING on our walls...we have started to pack up this week.

You know how Katy is; once she starts a project, it is ALL she thinks about. We know that we will be moving in 2 weeks, but we don't want to do it all in one weekend. We started with the walls, taking down everything and packing it all up and putting it out of the way.

It's crazy to think about all of the stuff that we have to move.... It's a little overwhelming! It makes it easier that we have started now and not in a week and a half.

Have you ever noticed for those who have moved at least once, that when you move you start out with really nothing, and when you get to the point that you move again, you pack up and when you get to the new place (it's usually a bigger place) you spread out? and if you ever got to the point of moving a 3rd time to an even bigger place, you spread out? it's amazing how that happens. you could never go back to the smaller space...

We have a couple things that we want to get for this new place, but it always seems that they keep adding up and harder and harder to afford. We need to get a washer and dryer, a dining table (we have never owned one) and of course Katy wants and usually picks out the most expensive one! (thanks Linda for giving Katy this sense of taste ;). Anyway, there are a bunch of decorations that we need, we want a printer, rugs for the kitchen and the dining room. We also want a King sized bed because we can fit it now... We also need a lawnmower now that we have a lawn. YAY!! WE HAVE A LAWN!!! FRONT AND BACK!! We also would like a freezer for the garage. can you believe that we have a garage?!?! It just seems a little too good to be true. And you know that Katy is just waiting for the bottom to drop out.

Thanks for everything you guys have done. And we hope that everything is going well for you guys too! Ciao
